Our skin is our body's largest and fastest-growing organ.It protects our body from heat and cold and water loss. Its other functions are insulation, temperature regulation, sensation, synthesis of vitamin D, and the protection of vitamin B folates.
But to take care of our skin we take care of it from outside. As a result the skin does not glow permanantly.
Dull skin is a very common problem now a days.
What are the reasons for dull skin?
Dull skin is one of the most common skincare complaints. When people talk about dull skin, they generally are describing skin that lacks radiance or glow like that is associated with young, healthy skin. Dull skin also means uneven skin texture or tone.
What causes Dull Skin?
Common factors that cause dull skin include smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, dehydration and poor diet. Basically anything that deprives our skin of much-needed oxygen and nutrients will result in dull skin tone. Dull skin is also often one of the first signs of aging.
How can we prevent dull skin?
To prevent Dull Skin we must avoid taking Alcohol,Eat balanced, nutrient-rich diet, must take antioxidant-rich products and drink plenty of water and do regular exfoliation.
How can we have glowing skin?
The most important point to get a glowing skin is
a)Exercise regularly.Because when we exercise blood flows throughout our body and so all cells become active.
b)Drink plenty of water because water flushes away our toxins from our body and giving glow to our skin.
c)Eat nutrient filled diet.Because if our cell are not healthy we will not get a glowing skin.Food packed with vitamin C like oranges, broccoli, brussels sprouts, red peppers, and kiwis,which helps in the production of skin-plumping collagen. Vegetables high in beta-carotene like carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach help skin stay smooth and soft. The omega-3 fatty acids in fish like salmon and trout as well as walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds help skin retain moisture, and prevent dryness, redness, and even acne. And the antioxidants in dark chocolate moisturize and soften skin, too.
d)We should avoid Alcohol.Alcohol dehydrates our body.So even if we drink Alcohol we must drink sufficient water before and after taking Alcohol to avoid dehydration
e)Avoid direct sunlight.WE should use sunscreen before going out.
f)We must have proper sleep.Minimum 6-8 hours of sleep is essential to have a glowing skin
g)WE must stop smoking
h)Wemust try to live a stress free life.
But if it is not possible to follow the above regime then we can go for supplements
and herbal beauty products
